We are now on our summer schedule,
with Worship Services at 8:30 and 10:15 a.m.
|
Welcome!
We're thrilled that you've found the "virtual
home" of Beacon Hill Evangelical Free Church...a lively
group of believers tucked away in the woods of scenic Monroe, Connecticut. |

Why
a website? |
|
The purpose of Beacon Hill Evangelical
Free Church (and this website) is to proclaim and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ
in a way
that will impact our surrounding community and the world, to the
glory of God. God is great, and greatly to be praised!
Perhaps you are reading this and you do not yet know
Jesus Christ. Perhaps you wonder about the meaning and purpose of
your life. We do not claim to have all the answers, but we know the
One who does! Jesus Christ is the answer to life’s most perplexing
questions, and we invite you to take your time and explore this
site...discover who we
are, what we believe, and (most importantly) what meeting the Savior can mean to your life!

Our
Sunday Worship Services are held each Sunday
during the Fall-Spring seasons at 8:30 and 11:00am. During the
summer, our Sunday services are at 8:30 and 10:15am. In true New England fashion, there
have been only two cancellations of services in the 30-year history of Beacon Hill Church...let
it be 30 more years before the next! Click here for a more detailed
description of our services and a schedule of the "goings on going
on!"

A
quick explanation... |
|
We are an Evangelical Free Church. What does that mean?
We're "evangelical," which means that we are committed
to the proclamation of the Gospel. Further, we believe that the
Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, inerrant in their original
writings...the complete revelation of His will and the final authority for
the conduct of a Christian life.
We're "free," which indicates that our church is
autonomous,
and expresses the idea that our local church membership takes an active role in
choosing the directions we take and the decisions we make. In other
words, our
organizational structure is congregational, not hierarchal in nature.
And we are a "church," a gathering of believers in our Savior
Jesus Christ who meet together to worship, support each other in the
faith, and strive to do our part in the Great Commission.
The
Evangelical Free Church of America is an association of almost 1,450
distinct churches dedicated to the service of our Lord Jesus Christ with the
guidance of the Holy Spirit and obedience to the Word of God. Each
Evangelical Free Church is united with the others in their commitment to the
principles of fellowship and cooperation in ministry as we seek to fulfill the
Great Commission which Christ has entrusted to His church. Please visit
the websites of the EFCA National
Office
and our New
England District Office for more information!

Cyber
vs. reality: no comparison |
|
Although we welcome and encourage your fellowship through
this website, we also believe that
no internet correspondence can take the place of shoulder to shoulder Christian fellowship. If you do
not already have a home church, we urge you to find one, and to
participate in the fellowship of a small (or "cell") group. There is no
better way to "jumpstart" your growth in the Lord than to join
with a group of mutually supporting
peers.
