VBS

Beacon Hill is a vibrant church, with many and varied activities to suit the unique gifts with which God has so graciously provided each one of us.  We encourage you to join in and apply your talents to one or more of the following wonderful ministries!

Worship

Come and join us on Sunday morning to worship our Lord Jesus Christ and exalt the Name Above All Names!  Lift up your voice in praise, immerse yourself in the Word of God, and be fed by the anointed message and the fellowship in the presence of our Savior.

Our music is a blend of contemporary worship and classic hymns, presented in a Spirit-led format.  The messages are both timely and relevant, meant to equip a Christian to deal with situations we experience every day in our walk with the Lord.

Childcare is offered during both services, and children (from preschool to 4th grade level) are dismissed to Children's Worship after the praise segment of the 8:30 service.

We hold our Communion service on the first Sunday of each month, and if you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, we invite you to join us in this special worship experience.  Water baptisms, child dedications and other special services are held periodically and will be announced on the schedule!

Prayer Meetings & Praise Concerts

Prayer meetings are held each Thursday at 7:00pm, and all are welcome!  We encourage you to join us in lifting up the name of the Lord.

Watch the schedule for special "concerts of praise" and other special prayer-related events.

Children's Sunday School

From September through June, Sunday School meets weekly at 9:50am in the classrooms.

We look forward to seeing you!

Adult Bible Fellowships

A variety of classes on different topics are led by small group leaders in different areas of our facility.  We strongly encourage you to join us at 9:50 am each Sunday from September through June.  Won't you add your questions and comments to a group so that all may benefit?

More info on classes here.

Helping Hands

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Our Mission
: To demonstrate God’s love by serving our church and the most needy members of the local community; widows, the elderly, the poor, the disabled, and those in distress.

"What Can I Do?" Give what time you can- a half hour, an hour, or half a day, regularly or one time.

"Who Can Join?" Anyone!  Men, women, youth, and families welcome!

"Will there be a lot of meetings?" No!  This is about doing, not talking.

"How does it work?"  You sign up, I call you and explain the need, you answer yes or no.

"I can’t give my time but I have tools." God can use them with our hands.

"I can’t give my time but I have experience."  You can be an advisor.

"I’m a great administrator but I am not handy." I need you!  There will be plenty of details that God doesn’t want to fall through the cracks.

What We Do:

  • Home Handyman fix-up work:  repairing light fixtures and  leaking faucets, caulking windows, replacing broken glass, oiling squeaky hinges, changing furnace filters, replacing smoke alarm batteries, etc.

  • Winterizing: closing storm windows, installing plastic windows and door sweepers, etc.

  • Yard work such as raking leaves.  (This is a great group or family opportunity.)

  • Cleaning up the streets in our neighborhood, picking up trash and recyclable aluminum.

  • Serving meals at a local mission, homeless shelter, or soup kitchen at non-holiday times.

  • "Car Care Day".  Providing a free safety inspection, fluid check, perhaps an oil and filter change, minor repairs and interior cleaning.

  • Running errands for shut-ins from our church or community. Doing grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, mail packages.  Paying bills, etc.

Our Scripture:

1 Timothy 6:18  Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

Matthew 5:15  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Ephesians 2:10  For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Small Group Bible Studies

There is no more important resource to the new believer than the Word of God, and the discipleship of more experienced believers to lead them to understanding.  And there is no better way to forge the lifelong bonds of brotherhood with your fellow Christians than by your participation in a small group (sometimes referred to as a "cell group.")

Youth Group

Motion (Middle School) meets  Wednesdays at 7pm.

Reverb (High School) meets Thursdays at 7pm.

Contact Dave Negriero for more information.

Men's Group

Beacon Hill's "Men of God" is a ministry dedicated to make us better fathers, better sons, better husbands and better men!  Come join us on Saturday mornings from 7am to 9am.

Watch the schedule for other special events.

Women's Ministries

Women's Bible Study:  All women are welcome to join us on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. (coffee at 9:15 a.m.)

Women's Outreach Ministry meets on the first and third Wednesday night of each month to quilt and make afghans, knitted, and crocheted items to benefit those in need in our surrounding area.

Women's Ministries also hosts special events throughout the year at Beacon Hill, and offers an annual Women's Retreat at beautiful Camp Spofford

Missionaries

Beacon Hill Church applies itself wholeheartedly to the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as directed in the Great Commission, sponsoring dedicated missionaries at home and abroad.

Prayer & Praise Cyber-Ministry

Join this powerful ministry and share the comfort and power of prayer, for God DOES answer prayer.  Amen?  AMEN.  [new prayer warrior]

Music Ministries

The Praise Team normally practices on Friday nights at 7pm.  If you feel led to do so, feel free to email Drew in order to discuss ways in which you might participate!  We are always seeking new instrumentalists, singers, and prayer warriors!  We invite you to listen in and hear what's going on.  You can view a calendar of upcoming events here.

On Palm Sunday 2007, the choir presented "Arise" as a shout of praise to our Risen Lord!  The recording is available on the resources page.

Hymn sings and "concerts of praise" are held periodically, and will be announced in the schedule.

Small groups are encouraged to practice for special music on the platform with sound reinforcement, by appointment.  [tasty free samples]
