"Hello, Beacon Hill Church’ is what you will probably hear if you have the occasion to call us at the church and often it will be me answering the phone. My name is Eileen Bell, secretary at Beacon Hill since October 2000. I’ve been attending Beacon Hill Church for 26 years and been involved in various ministries over the years, including music, missions, small groups, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. I grew up in a Christian family in Bridgeton, NJ and trusted Christ as my Savior at the age of 12 at summer camp. When I saw how Jesus gave joy and purpose to some of my friends, this positive peer influence and the Lord spoke to my heart and He has given me that great joy and purpose in my own life. Before children, I taught the hearing impaired in Trumbull for seven years. I resigned on Oct. 25, because our daughter was arriving from Korea on Oct. 26. Our son arrived, also from Korea, two and a half years later. I’m grateful to God for my family and also for my church family! I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord as secretary of Beacon Hill. There are many blessings that come with this job. The blessings include dealing with so many wonderful people and doing a wide variety of interesting tasks. I’ve always liked variety and God has given me plenty! Recently, I’ve used the sounding out of my name as my signature and reminder to trust the Lord: “I lean” on Jesus.
